Playtimes March 2014 - page 6

A
s an editor, I’m supposed to avoid using clichés – those tired and trite phrases and
topics that require so little creativity and are so unoriginal. Talking about how quickly
time seems to pass is a perfect example. That said… Holy cow, where on earth has the
time gone this year that we’re already presenting you with the March issue?
Weren’t we just
buying Halloween candy?
That panic that I’m feeling (and perhaps you’re feeling, too) about how quickly the
months and years seem to be flying by
, and whether I’m accomplishing everything
on my seemingly endless to-do list while still stopping to smell a rose or two, is all the more reason
for us to focus on this issue’s theme: Relax.
You’re busy
. Your kids are busy. Everyone is stretched and scheduled in more
directions than seems normal. While I don’t expect we’re going to change the world’s priorities
overnight and get back to some imagined simpler time, there are a few things we can do right now
to bring a bit of calm into our lives.
Many
parents are doing yoga
, but did you know that
those poses are
good for kids, too?
Inside, learn all about it. Before your kids came along, did you promise
yourselves that you’d remain a cool couple – two adults with interests and activities that had
nothing to do with your kids – in addition to being the
world’s best parents?
If you haven’t
quite lived up to the dream, take a look inside for ways to turn things around. On top of all of your
other responsibilities, are you wondering how (and why) so many of your peers are finding time to
blog about their every parental moment? We were too, and we’ve got the scoop inside.
One mum who’s surely still completely focused on her brand new parenting duties is our
teammate Amberly, who welcomed baby Eli to the world last month. We’re thinking about you,
Amberly, and wishing you and Eli lots of love and joy.
Thanks for reading,
